To provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to safely operate a Wheeled Loading Shovel, delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical training and exercises.

Through a mix of practical and theory-based exercises and tutorials, delegates will cover manufacturer and general knowledge and responsibilities using a loading shovel while participating in practical plant operating activities, safety procedures, and best practices

Undertake all pre-start, running checks and shut down procedures, mount and dismount
Explain precautions to be taken for underground and overhead services and other hazards
Prepare and configure the wheeled loading shovel for site and road travel
Place the machine in an out of service condition
Carry out excavations from an embankment of different materials and form stockpiles and ramps
Ensure load integrity and security
Explain loading/unloading procedures for machine transportation

The length of ur dumper courses can vary between 1 to 5 days long. This depends on the type of the course (the kind of a dumper truck that the course covers), but mostly on the driver’s experience using such and similar vehicles.

A minimum of 18 years old

An NPORS Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice answers along with an NPORS practical assessment.

NPORS Operator Card (Traditional) – Valid for 3 years.
