CPCS dumper courses train the participants in the knowledge and skills needed to operate forward tipping dumpers and/or articulated dump trucks in a safe, productive and effective way. The courses are designed specifically to comply with CPCS dumper training standards.

All kinds of dumper trucks are frequently used in construction, and are crucial especially in larger-scale building projects. Various types of a dumper include a rigid dumper truck, an articulated dumper, a tracked dumper and a mini dumper.

In the construction industry, forward tipping dumpers are commonly used on sites to transport materials throughout a variety of terrains. Due to their heavy lifting and versatile capabilities, therefore means that the operator needs to be extremely skilled and competent enough to carry out the role; this is the knowledge and skills that our forward tipping training provides to all of our candidates.

For individuals to be able to participate in our specialist training courses, it is compulsory for them to have a basic understanding of current health and safety legislation.

Delegates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations and exercises covering:

An introduction to the construction industry.
Current relevant regulations.
Introduction to machine.
Pre-shift inspections.
Controls and instruments.
Coolant, fuel and lubrication systems.
Trenching, back-filling, levelling and marking out.
Excavating deep and shallow excavation.
Other associated construction activities.
Explanation of attachments.
NPORS assessment, which includes theory and practical elements.

The length of ur dumper courses can vary between 1 to 5 days long. This depends on the type of the course (the kind of a dumper truck that the course covers), but mostly on the driver’s experience using such and similar vehicles.

A minimum of 18 years old

An NPORS Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice answers along with an NPORS practical assessment.

NPORS Operator Card (Traditional) – Valid for 3 years.
